Firmware Updates

Starlink does not publish an official firmware/software changelog. The firmware updates featured on this page are an effort of the Starlink community on Reddit. Information here could be incorrect, use it at your own risk.

Did your Starlink get a software update you don’t see on this list? Send us a message and we will add it!

Only the most recent updates are listed, from newest to oldest. Notable changes, if any, are in bold below the firmware version.

How to Check Your Starlink Software Version

To check which version of firmware/software your dish is running, open the Starlink App. Scroll to the bottom, then tap Advanced. The software version is listed under the Starlink section, labeled Software.

You can tell when the firmware was last updated by checking Uptime. Each time the firmware updates, Starlink reboots, and resets the Uptime counter. Updates usually occur overnight, around 1:00AM-4:00AM.

How to Update Starlink Firmware

Starlink users cannot manually update their firmware version. All updates are pushed from Starlink. Updates are typically rolled out in batches, meaning not every user will be updated the same day. It is also important to note that not every user will receive every update.

Sometimes, the Starlink app will ask if you would like to download and install a new firmware update. You can go ahead and update at that moment, or Starlink will automatically update overnight.
